The Mannor Farm LLC
Our little farm is located on 25 acres in Oceana County southwest of Hesperia in the Manistee National Forest. We are bordered on three sides by forest and a small farm to the north. We are 3 miles from the White River and Pines Point Camp Ground. We originally come from very different backgrounds. Dan was raised on a farm in Oceana County, Michigan while Linda was raised in Staten Island, New York. We have had several small farms over the past 45 years and have raised beef cattle, sheep, and hay. We have always had a garden and tried to maintain a self-sufficient lifestyle. We have always tried to grow our livestock and food as naturally as possible. In 2012, we started raising squash, field corn and garlic on Dan’s parents’ old farm with an emphasis on naturally grown. In 2017, we purchased our current place and since it had not been farmed in over 40 years, decided to manage it naturally in a sustainable manner. We are Certified Naturally Grown and use no chemical fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides (we meet or exceed all USDA Organic standards). In 2019, we started offering green garlic for the first time. We currently raise garlic, green onions, peppers, eggplant, cabbage, lettuce, squash, beans and peas. We also raise field corn and Indian corn.
We operate as a multi-generation farm with our children and grandchildren helping with the planting and harvesting of our produce.
We attend several farmers markets in the Oceana and Newaygo county area. We also sell produce by the ½ bushel and bushel at the farm for those who like to preserve their own food.
Dan is a retired Corporate Controller. Linda is a retired nurse. We have been married for 45 years and have 3 children and 6 grandchildren.
Certified Naturally Grown puts an emphasis on small farmers that are interested in interacting more directly with their customers, fellow farmers, and communities.
