Good Steward Farms
As a sufferer of chronic disease, I decided to leave my 20-year corporate career to stop being a part of the problem and become part of a solution. After a year of volunteering and mentoring on a four-season farm near me, I started my small farm for vegetable production. Our produce is grown in a section of pasture on the five acres where we have lived since 2000 and is located roughly 22 miles northeast of Colorado Springs, near the small town of Peyton.
We focus on the soil food web and consider our produce the indicator of our success or failure. Not as much a measure of quality, but more as a measure of our efforts and their effect on soil health. We believe that Healthy Soil = Healthy Food = Healthy People.
Giving us our mission:
Many people in El Paso county suffer from getting fresh local produce. Good Steward Farms is here to meet this need in our community. By listening to nature, we foster healthy soil to produce nutrient-rich food. We strive to enable, educate, and empower people to live their best life while preserving food security and protecting our precious planet for generations to come.
I joined because of the grass-roots, community based approach to a method of validating my practices. Giving my customers faith in me and confidence in their purchases.
