Alice Varon

Alice has a background in public policy and a passion for building grassroots organizations that center collaboration, creativity, and a commitment to making a positive impact on the world. She has been present for many phases of CNG’s growth, including shepherding the development of CNG’s certification programs for beekeeping, aquaponics and mushroom production. Since 2013 she has served as the North American representative on IFOAM-Organic International’s PGS Committee, a group formed to support best practices in the development of peer-review certification programs like CNG. Alice lives in New York’s Hudson Valley where she grows Shiitake mushrooms on logs, does what she can to foster ecological balance, and will someday resume her beekeeping hobby.
